Junta (pronounced Joon-tah, with the 'oo' as in 'book') is Phish's debut studio album, recorded at Euphoria Sound Studios in Revere, Massachusetts, during 1987 and 1988 on 16-track 2'' tape and mixed to 1/4'' stereo reels. Alongside writing and performing the music, the band took on production responsibilities, gathering around Engineer Gordon Hookailo's console for group fades, as mix automation was unavailable. This album represented a significant milestone in musical creativity, with every track still performed live by the band.

Initially self-released on cassette in May 1989, Junta featured packaging designed by the band. In October 1992, it was re-mastered and issued as a double CD (and cassette) by Elektra, accompanied by artwork from Jim Pollock. The album achieved Gold certification, but the first vinyl release came in 2012 for Record Store Day, produced from the original stereo master reels, with lacquers cut by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering.

We ship within two business days when possible. Remember, Media Mail is cheap but gets very little love from the postal service. Expect long waits and few tracking updates. We recommend USPS Priority or UPS Ground.

Keep away from the sun.

Never place it next to a Justin Bieber record.

Treat it like your grandma, you know if she was a record. Know what I mean? Tender care, don't talk back, and never interupt during Murder She Wrote. Wait - what the hell was I writing about-
