In 1991, Neil Gust and Elliott Smith formed a new band in Portland with drummer Tony Lash and bassist Brandt Peterson. They quickly gained attention, releasing a self-titled cassette and playing shows across the West Coast. Despite evolving over three albums, this is the energetic and raw sound of Heatmiser at their start, channeling grunge and rocking out with 100 watt Marshall half stacks.
