Blue Hawaii - Untogether - 10th Anniversary Blue Vinyl Record

Blue Hawaii and Arbutus Records, alongside numerous Montreal-based collectives, emerged around 2010. Marking the start of their career, the duo released an 8-song EP, "Blooming Summer", which was recorded after their travels in Central America. This compilation reflects the energy of the season, featuring complex female harmonies, tape-saturated synths, guitars and drum machines. Pursuing different musical directions, Ra focused on BRAIDS while Ag moved to Europe and experimented with dance music, electronics and production. Subsequently, in 2012, Blue Hawaii composed "Untogether," starting the process on New Year's Day in Vancouver and continuing until summer in Montreal. The record demonstrates the two's personal growth, with a more spacious production and a reflective theme centered on belonging and space. It sheds light on the pair's creative process: while physically apart, their composition stays connected.
