Weather Report was a highly influential jazz-fusion band that managed to outlast many of its contemporaries, such as Herbie Hancock's Headhunters and The Mahavishnu Orchestra. In 1977, the band released their seventh album, Heavy Weather, which became their most successful album. It was also the second album featuring the bassist Jaco Pastorius.
