Ride has released their 6th studio album, which is also their second since reuniting in 2015 and signing with Wichita. The album was produced by Erol Alkan, who also produced their previous album, Weather Diaries. Alan Moulder, a long-time collaborator, mixed the album with Caesar Edmunds. The album's title was inspired by a hobo code symbol, which was once used by people who travelled on the US railroads and was found in the early artwork of Jean-Michel Basquiat. The phrase "This Is Not A Safe Place" reflects the current political and environmental situation of the world. This album showcases Ride's broadest musical palette so far, with sounds and styles that span their entire catalogue. Musically and lyrically, the album conveys the passion and unity of a band that loves being back together and is at the top of their game.
