Pixies at the BBC will be released for the first time on triple black vinyl, double CD, and in HD digital audio on March 8th, 2024. The album features recordings of six sessions that Pixies, the popular band from the 4AD era, recorded for the BBC between 1988 and 1991. Five of these sessions were for John Peel, and one was for Mark Goodier. The sessions capture the raw energy of the band's live performances and showcase Black Francis, Kim Deal, Joey Santiago, and David Lovering as they deliver powerful performances.

During this time, Pixies recorded a total of twenty-four tracks, including favorites from their mini-album Come on Pilgrim and three of their four 4AD studio albums. The sessions also included three covers: reworks of The Beatles' "Wild Honey Pie," Eraserhead's "(In Heaven) Lady in the Radiator Song," and The Beach Boys' "Hang On To Your Ego," a track that Black Francis later covered on his debut Frank Black solo album.

This new release of Pixies at the BBC includes all tracks from the six sessions, presented in chronological order, which is something that fans have been asking for. The album's sleeve features a new design by Chris Bigg, which pays tribute to the band's late-visual director Vaughan Oliver. The design is in black and gold, and it uses unseen archival Pixies imagery by long-time collaborator Simon Larbalestier.

Never place it next to a Justin Bieber record.

Treat it like your grandma, you know if she was a record. Know what I mean? Tender care, don't talk back, and never interupt during Murder She Wrote. Wait - what the hell was I writing about-
