Tracy Chapman's debut album, released on April 5, 1988, by Elektra Records, marks the rise of this talented singer-songwriter. It was recorded at Powertrax studio in Hollywood, California, after Brian Koppelman discovered her talent in 1987 and promoted her demo tape of "Talkin' 'bout a Revolution," leading to her signing with Elektra.
Featuring hits like ‘Fast Car’ and ‘Baby Can I Hold You’, the album earned three Grammy Awards, topped charts in various countries, and sold over 20 million copies worldwide. Today, it remains a landmark in music history as one of the best-selling albums by a female artist.
This anniversary reissue, prepared by Chapman and producer David Kershenbaum, is pressed on high-quality 180-gram vinyl from an analogue master.
