Songs: Ohia - Travels in Constants - Vinyl Record
Surrounded by Ghost Tropic and its critically praised successor, Didn't It Rain, in 2001, Songs: Ohia crafted an EP for Temporary Residence's subscription series, Travels In Constants. Entitled with no name, the single-song EP was an 18-minute instrumental piece played live by Jason Molina in his house, captured directly on a 4-track cassette recorder as Chicago's typical sounds swirled outside his windows. Driven by an acoustic guitar and his signature sorrowful vocals, this unearthly tune was "too far out" for a Songs: Ohia album, making it a perfect fit for this album.
