As she's matured, Ella Smoker has discovered that her subconscious has been trying to communicate "wildly creative thoughts." Ideas come to the 21-year-old musician in her dreams or while writing lyrics in the studio, with words flowing onto the page before she fully comprehends them. "Once we start creating music, my mind switches off," she reveals. "I'll write all this seemingly nonsensical content, and then a month later, I'll reflect and realize, 'oh.' It all originates from a place I didn't even know existed." Through embracing her inner self, gglum found a kindred spirit in producer Karma Kid, pushing past her natural introversion to fully embrace the collaborative process.
