Born in London and raised in Dorset's scenic countryside, Fenne lived a nomadic childhood, traveling Europe in a bus while homeschooled. Her musical roots stem from her mother's old records, introducing her to T-Rex, Velvet Underground, and later, artists like PJ Harvey and Joni Mitchell. This inspired her to embrace the guitar. "On Hold," Fenne's debut collection of songs, penned during her teens, initially served as an emotional outlet. Released in 2018, its popularity surged after she toured with Lucy Dacus and Andy Shauf. Critics hailed her as a unique, emotive voice. Reflecting on the album's re-release, Fenne values its lasting impact on her youth.
