Records can transport us to long-gone places. The Get Up Kids’ seminal sophomore album Something to Write Home About, celebrating its 25th anniversary this year with a deluxe, remastered edition, may evoke memories of dormitories, study halls, first cars, or teenage bedrooms. For the core members, it brings back Mad Hatter Studios in Los Angeles’ Silver Lake, where they spent six weeks recording in summer 1999. “I can hear that studio,” says bassist Robert Pope. “A lot of it was the environment.” Unlike their 1997 debut Four Minute Mile, recorded in a hectic weekend in Chicago on a shoestring budget, their follow-up benefited from time and resources, thanks to a new deal with Vagrant Records after a challenging label search. “We spoke with nearly every major-label A&R person,” says Pope. “They had strange expectations for us; we aimed higher.”

Shipping
We ship within two business days when possible. Remember, Media Mail is cheap but gets very little love from the postal service. Expect long waits and few tracking updates. We recommend USPS Priority or UPS Ground.

Returns
Thirty days if unopened, you pay the postage to us. If the item is defective or the delivery person folded it, please reach out ASAP for us to fix the issue. After 30 days, you own it!
