Matthew Sweet, a cherished artist at IndieVinylDen.com, experienced a severe stroke in Toronto during a national tour, leading to an uncertain road to recovery. Financial aid is urgently needed from family, friends, and fans to alleviate his substantial financial strain.

The doctors and hospital staff in Toronto played a critical role in saving Matthew’s life. However, healthcare for Americans in Canada is not free, and Matthew now needs to be transported back to the U.S. on a medically equipped ambulance plane with a team of medical professionals. He’ll be taken to a specialized rehabilitation center, where he’ll receive intensive care and therapy for six weeks, followed by months of treatment and rehabilitation as he works toward what we hope will be a full recovery. Unfortunately, the costs of this essential care are overwhelming, with expenses expected to total nearly a quarter of a million dollars. Your thoughts, love, and support mean everything to him, but if you’re able, any financial contribution would be deeply appreciated. Matthew will be forever grateful for your help.

For those less familiar with Matthew personally, you might know his music. Matthew Sweet rose to prominence from the 80s Athens, Georgia music scene and became a key figure in the 90s power pop revival with his 1991 album Girlfriend. The title track, "Girlfriend," and "I've Been Waiting" became fan favorites. His subsequent albums, Altered Beast (1993) and 100% Fun (1995), featured popular tracks like "Time Capsule" and "Sick of Myself."

Also if you buy any of Matthew's music from us, we will donate 100% of those proceeds to the fund.
